Are CISS systems any good?

A CIS can save a significant amount of money over the cost of replacing individual cartridges of ink. After all, you’re buying the ink in bulk quantities; usually in 4 oz or larger bottles compared to the typical cartridge that holds 12-15ml of ink (for reference, there are 29.4ml in 1 oz).

How do you prime an ink cartridge?

The easiest remedy for this is to open the box and stand the cartridge upside down for a few minutes before using. Next, get a damp paper towel, fold it into quarters and the set cartridge print head down onto it, holding it there for three minutes. This will help to prime the print head and pull the ink out.

Can a Canon printer be used for sublimation?

Office Canon printers are also unable to be converted to sublimation printers. As well as the HP printers, they print using heat, which is incompatible with sublimation ink. Canon does however have a range of printers that have the ability to sublimate images onto transparent film using built-in sublimation heaters.

Can I print sublimation paper on regular printer?

You can use a standard inkjet or laser printer to print onto this paper with your normal inks. You then place the paper onto your clothing and use a heat press, or in some cases, you can use an iron, and peel away the paper. Your design will then be stuck-on to your garment, and you will be able to see the transfer.

How does CISS damper work?

Damper opens automatically when printer is in printing mode and closes automatically when ink is pushed back. This damper system can be used on any CISS/CIS unit. Just cut your tubes and connect to the unit.
