A Port Lay, on the island of Groix in Brittany (France), Festival International du Film Insulaire organized in 2009 in its ninth edition, from 19 to 23 August.
The event aims to be a rendez-vous dedicated to the lovers of islands around the world , and of their cinemas.
Has the poster, a documentary in competition and as many eyes sensitive worn on the islanders, Cuba, Borneo, New Caledonia to Ushant, timer shots postcard.
But also a programming that gives way to the blows of the heart as the anger Around… documentaries, fiction short and long, animated films that can touch pupils, modestly, realities or imaginary island, near or far.
Other highlights of the Festival… Its Destination. Each year, the lighthouse, Groix launches its radius to discover a life of island near or distant. In 2009, collision in Sri Lanka through films, exhibitions, photos, and discussions.
Festive and muscial, the Islander Film Festival will resound with many concerts, performances and shows : Olli and the Bollywood Orchestra, Rutabaga, Zikabilio, Carlton Rara, Achille Grimaud and Ronan Tablantec.
