Shazans Select is a range approved by the Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC) who oversee all of the products being produced.
Is shazan halal or Haram?
Shazan products only use meat & poultry from sites approved by these Halal Accreditation Bodies. Our Shazans Select Range of products uses only meat from HMC approved sources.
Is Tesco halal meat HMC?

We understand some KFC branches are certified Halal by the Halal Food Authority (HFA) and the poultry produced is stunned and hand slaughtered. All questions related to the products and branches should be forwarded to HFA. HMC is the UK’s largest Halal certifying body, employing over 220 people.

Shazans was created by the Ayyub family in 2000. From very humble beginnings, this hard working Muslim family based in Preston began making samosas in the kitchen at home to sell to the local community.

Our products are certified by the following Certifications Bodies: The Halal Food Council of Europe (HFCE), Halal Certification Germany (HCG), Instituto Halal De Junta Islamica (Halal Institute of Spain) and Halal Professional Institute (Halal PI).

What is shazans Select brand?
Following specific requests from some of our customers, we have in partnership with HMC (Halal Monitoring Committee) launched the Shazans Select brand. Products under the Shazans Select brand are manufactured for our customers who want the raw material used in these products to be specifically approved from one halal accreditation body – HMC.
