Synopsis

Synopsis

One evening, in a small town who crosses the national road, arrive two strangers. They are looking for someone. These are hired killers. Their victim will be another unknown, Pete Lunn, installed recently in this small town and who keeps a gas station. Pete Lunn, warned of their arrival, does not seek to escape, and is waiting with fatalism that they shot him. But Lunn had subscribed to a life insurance.

The insurance company refers to one of his detectives, James Reardon, to investigate the matter. Interviewing witnesses and those who have known Pete Lunn, Reardon reconstructs the puzzle of the mysterious… The life of Lunn, said “Swedish”. This former boxer has participated in the hold-up of a factory, with gangsters. Why ? By love. But being aware of the too beautiful Kitty, Pete Lunn is lost. “Rode” by the gangsters, and Kitty, it was already a death sentence after the betrayal of the one he loved. This is why he waited for death with resignation.
