Synopsis

The film was presented out of competition at the Cannes film Festival 2009, and was released in Spain on October 9, 2009. Agora has received seven Goya awards in Spain, including the Goya award for best original screenplay. He was also awarded at the international film Festival of the Hamptons.

Synopsis

After various terrorist attacks around the world, the detective Sherlock Holmes gathers evidence in Strasbourg that directly link a teacher of science, muscled and dangerous : Moriarty. The latter warns Holmes not to continue it if he wants his friend, doctor Watson and his new wife are still alive. Holmes saves then the latter and proposes to Watson cancel their honeymoon and pursue him with Moriarty in Paris…

• * * Many actors were considered for the role of Moriarty : Brad Pitt, Gary Oldman, Daniel Day-Lewis, Sean Penn and Javier Bardem. Before that Noomi rapace is invited to play the Sim, the names of Sophie Marceau, Audrey Tautou, Penelope Cruz, Juliette Binoche, Virginie Ledoyen, Eva Green, Marion Cotillard or even Cécile de France have been circulating.

• The French Gilles Lellouche was originally supposed to participate in the film. However there are other French actors in the movie poster : Thierry Neuvic and twins Victor Carril and Alexandre Carri, appeared in the film Give me your hand.

• The film’s original soundtrack is composed, as for the 1st movie, by Hans Zimmer. Hans Zimmer has kept the theme of the first film, while developing a style of gypsy music, to paste in the character of gypsy Sim. For this, the composer has made in settlements in Slovakia. In addition to the compositions of Zimmer, a song composed by Ennio Morricone has been “borrowed” in the movie Sierra scorching of Don Siegel in the 1970s. Die Forelle by Franz Schubert, and Don Giovanni of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are also used.

• The scene of the cavalcade across Europe is a tribute to Sierra scorching of Don Siegel (1969) You can even hear the music of the western…
