It is through love that Garp between literature at the age of 18 years, in 1962. Card program

Christina leads an unhappy life with her husband, the tyrannical Michel Delasalle, director of the boarding school for boys of which she is the owner. She knows that one of the teachers, Nicole Horner, is his mistress, but this has not prevented the two women from getting closer to one another. Christina sees in Nicole a companion in misfortune, sharing with her his hatred towards Michael. When Nicole asks Christina to help him kill Michael, agrees.

Anecdotes

• Among the students of the school are two extras famous : Georges Poujouly and Johnny Hallyday.

• The novel of Boileau-Narcejac was the subject, in 1996, a new adaptation performed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, under the title of Evil, interpreted by Sharon Stone (the mistress), Isabelle Adjani (the wife) and Chazz Palminteri (the husband). The end, however, is very different.

• Prior to this remake of 1996, a first adaptation american had been given in 1974, for tv channels like ABC, titled Reflections of Murder, with Tuesday Weld, Joan Hackett, and Sam Waterston.

• Alfred Hitchcock, after the success of the film, asked Boileau-Narcejac to write him a scenario in the same vein as that of the Evil : it was in a cold Sweat.

• Please note, the appearance of Jean Lefebvre as a soldier drunk and Michel Serrault, who just started at the cinema.

• Clouzot a part of the action at Niort, of which he was a native.

• The scene of the transportation of the mail, out of the house, Nicole was on tour in Montfort-L’amaury, a small street near the centre of the city (cf office of tourism). Henri-Georges Clouzot was, at this time, in this small town of the Yvelines department, where, moreover, the exterior of the film The Crow were filmed.

• The school Delasalle is the castle of L’étang-La-Ville (Yvelines), at the time, left to decay, after its use as a barracks for a regiment of German during the occupation ; Henri-Georges Clouzot had had dug in the courtyard is a swimming-pool summary without arrival and evacuation of water, but deep.

Music

The film presents a peculiarity in its use, or rather in its non-use, of the music. In fact, the music, composed by Georges Van Parys, lasts only 2 min 21 s : 1 min 57 s for the credits at the beginning, 24 seconds to the end. It is totally absent from the rest of the film.
