At Passaic, in New Jersey, Mike is an employee of Be Kind Rewind, the video-club of Elroy Fletcher, her adoptive father. While mr Fletcher is away for a few days to study the methods of the competition, all of the VHS tapes of the shop is wiped out by Jerry, a friend of Mike’s, which has been magnetized while attempting to sabotage a power plant. To save the video-club of the bankruptcy, and meet the demands of the most loyal customers, the two men decide to make themselves the remakes of the movies deleted.

After the unexpected success of their versions of S. O. S. Ghosts and Rush Hour 2, they turn the film on film with the help of Alma and Wilson, the employee of Jerry. Among their occasions, RoboCop, 2001 : a space Odyssey, Boyz N the Hood, Miss Daisy and her driver, Carrie au bal du diable, and The lion King. They soon become real local stars and they are asked always more movies “suédés” (sweded).

The building which houses the video-club is threatened with demolition and the FBI, on behalf of the major film studios, has proceeded to the destruction of all tapes ” suédées “, for non-compliance of copyrights. Only the creation of a film to the original script, realized with the help of all the inhabitants of the district and dedicated to the life of Fats Waller seems to be able to fix things.

Rosemary Woodhouse is a young lady of the house, the wife of a stage actor, Guy Woodhouse. The couple settled in an apartment in the famous house Bramford, an old building in Manhattan quite alarming because of the reputation disaster of some residents of the past.

Rosemary is a young woman and happy, which is totally dedicated to her home and to her husband that she was very keen to have a baby. Guy, on his side, would like to become a star. As the result of circumstances bizarre, Woodhouse forge a friendship with Roman and Minnie Castevet, a household of advanced age, who lives on the same floor and that turns into “parents” of substitution with respect to the young couple. Soon, Guy accedes to the desire of Rosemary have the child she wants so much and they are considering the ideal date for that Rosemary is pregnant. That night, Rosemary has hallucinations and nightmares, during which she has the impression of having been raped by the devil in person. When she wakes up, the Guy apologised for having made love with her while she was unconscious. She discovers that she is pregnant.

While her pregnancy develops, Rosemary feels the cause of some fears : why did she had severe discomfort at the beginning of her pregnancy ? That is what is behind all the attention of Castevet and their friends ? Why the career of Guy she suddenly made such progress ? Later, Rosemary discovers that her neighbors if the gentiles are of Satan worshippers, and in their rituals of black magic uses the blood of the baby. Guy would he be siding with them ? They would have delivered the baby ? or maybe it all exists only in his imagination… is she mad ? Or would it be a conspiracy around something even worse… ?
