History means “inquiry / inquiry, knowledge acquired through the methods of investigation”) is the discovery, collection, management, and presentation of information on past or past events.
Why is Sejarah important?
The Sejarah Melayu is significant for its well-written narrative and characterization of personalities, and it is also an important historical source about Malacca and the Malay world prior to Malacca’s defeat by the Portuguese in 1511.

The first Jawi text of Sejarah Melayu in print was published in Singapore and edited by Abdullah bin Abdul Kadir Munshi (Munsyi) in c. 1840 for the use of those who wished to learn the correct form of Malay.
Who has compiled and rewritten the work of Sulalatus Salatin?
Another important version, compiled by Malaysian historian Abdul Samad Ahmad in 1979, uses the original title of the text, Sulalatus Salatin. Abdul Samad’s compilation was based on three manuscripts that he named as A, B and C, kept in the library of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Kuala Lumpur.
