UKSCA or the UK Strength and Conditioning Association is the professional body for Strength and Conditioning in the UK. They also hold regular workshops on the main areas of strength and conditioning you can attend if your end goal is to become accredited and work with athletes of your chosen sport.
Can you become a strength and conditioning coach without a degree?
While a graduate degree is not required, it’s often needed to progress in this profession. Advanced degrees are becoming more common in the industry, and many jobs list a master’s degree as a preferred qualification for applicants, according to the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
What is the ASCC assessment day like?
The ASCC assessment day tests the coach’s knowledge and practical coaching skills across four areas. The Case Study section allows the candidate to demonstrate their programme planning knowledge and skills with an athlete they have worked with and their underpinning knowledge is tested through a multiple-choice written paper.
What do I need to know about the UKSCA competency document?
