How do you get to Awakenings Festival?
The easiest way to get to Awakenings Festival is to take the train to Amsterdam Sloterdijk. Avoid the taxis and take one of our many shuttle busses to and from the festival for only 6,70 euro (incl service costs). STAY AWAKE!

There has been no epidemic recurrence of encephalitis lethargica since the early 20th century, but putative sporadic cases continue to occur.
What happened to the awakening patients?
The epidemic lasted from around 1917 to 1928 and left many survivors in a catatonic state. Those patients had been relegated to back wards and asylums.
