Are Futaba transmitters good?
When I first started out in this hobby decades ago – Futaba radios really were better than most other RC radio manufacturers. However, once you look past the 6J & K, their 2.4 GHz performance FASST series and affordable S-FHSS series are some of the nicest intermediate & advanced radios on the market right now.
Are Futaba and Spektrum compatible?
Futaba Receivers operate on a different protocol than Spektrum Transmitters. They will not work together. Spektrum radios started with DSM, then upgraded to DSM 2 and now are DSMX protocol.

Is FASST s-FHSS compatible with Futaba receivers?
. Futaba has full range S-FHSS receivers with dual antennas, and Futaba is releasing a dual antenna 8 channel sbus S-FHSS receiver this year, the R2008SB. FHSS is probably just as reliable as FASST, and its here to stay for a long time, even the ultra high end 18MZ has FHSS/S-FHSS compatibility.
What is the difference between fasstest and tfhss?
FASST and FASSTest are the same base protocol. FASSTest is the telemetry version of FASST SFHH and TFHSS are essentially the same protocol as well, with TFHSS being the telemetry version. Read the entire RC Groups thread and major difference seems to be price.
What is the range of a FASST receiver?
FHSS is Futaba’s low cost system for short range park fliers. FASST receivers with dual antennas have full range (3 miles +). There are also some single antenna FASST receivers which are short range for park fliers. FASST has Sbus capability.
What’s the difference between FHSS and DSSS?
Well all-else being equal (which it’s often not, thanks to sub-standard power systems, and poor installations), the FHSS system should have an edge over the DSSS system when it comes to retaining control of your model.
