Many actors have tried to transition to the realization ! Perilous exercise if it is, this radical change of position vis-à-vis the public guaranteed, however, a nice media coverage (at least for the actors of the first rank). On the other hand, few are those who manage to register in time : and there, we of course think of Clint Eastwood, Woody Allen, Robert Redford, Kenneth Branagh. More recently it was Ryan Gosling who is launched into the adventure with the Lost River (2014).
The achievement is a world reserved for men, particularly when one comes to the front of the stage ? The answer is no ! Despite a low representation of women on the profession of the achievement, they are few to find enough support to change the business, from actress to director.
Of course, one can cite the very media Angelina Jolie with already three feature films to his credit including Invincible in 2014. Certainly better bill, the very good Bliss directed by Drew Barrymore in 2009, is part of our movies actress-filmmaker favorite. At international level, they are finally many to get behind the camera ! We can also mention : Diane Keaton, Jodie Foster…, and other projects are in progress by Natalie Portman (A tale of love and darkness – 2014),
The French are not at rest and show that there is room to take in this universe very masculine. While Josiane Balasko or Agnès Jaoui have already proven, women directors, the French have difficulty knowing a great success in spite of several films released : Zabou Breitman, Sophie Marceau, Julie Delpy. Recently, we have noted a startle of recognition for their work, head bow, Maïwenn revealed to the César in 2012 for Polisse (poliss) and recently at the Cannes film Festival 2015 with My King. This will strengthen other women directors to continue in this vein ? We of course think of Mélanie Laurent (who has already done several films), to the talented Catherine Corsini (The Beautiful Season – 2015), Emmanuelle Bercot (The High Head – 2015).
For longevity in the world of the realization, the women actresses-directors still have a way to go to catch up to the huge quarries of the dinosaurs of the Hollywood movie… But considering the quality of the many movies, we do not doubt that they will be more likely to register in time.
That bring these women to the achievement ? Without a doubt, a different sensitivity in this world, very masculine ! The best is yet to leave the floor when they come to pick up an award on a festival.
