Once-in-a preventable. A single actor from the previous film has followed, it is already a bad sign. Brendan Fraser not wanting to make this sequel, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock plays here the role of the dominant male. The first movie ended with an opening on Atlantis, explore the mysterious Island. But where the first part was about a rewriting of the novel of Jules Verne in a modern world, here the film draws loosely from the novel by Jules Verne.

Classic scenario and more than light : a teen (Josh Hutcherson, the only survivor of the first film) in a state of rebellion with his stepfather (Dwayne Johnson), and a journey that will bring them closer…

Perfect if you have a young pre-teen to deal with. If not, go your way.

A little riddle sent by the great father opens the film, but quickly shipped in 2 min chrono. It was the only exciting thing in the film. There we learn that the island, in addition to being the mysterious Island by Jules Verne (of course), is also the source of inspiration of the Trips of Gulliver of Jonathan Swift and the treasure Island of Robert Louis Stevenson. Both the first two islands mentioned are fantastic (and so fitting with the universe), as the third is just a deserted island with a treasure. No treasure on the island, but Atlantis is also (this can still eventually catch on to the reference to the first film). Michael Caine cabotine nicely in the role of the grand father, as we have unfortunately seen in better form. Luis Guzman plays the comic service, and Vanessa Hudgens is the girl who dazzles totally the ado at first glance. I would stop here the description of the film, the scenario being what it is.

Good surprise, however, on the 3D that I have seen far more poorly made. This is the only positive thing I could say about this film. Perfect if you have a young pre-teen to deal with. If not, go your way.
