Is SoundScan free?
At the time of this FAQ’s publication, Nielsen SoundScan registration is still free of charge. Please note, that BEFORE registering with Nielsen SoundScan, you must obtain your ISRC and UPC Codes. Only after you have your codes purchased, can you start the registration of your album, audio tracks, and videos.
Can Soundscan track sales on any CD?

How do I Register my bar code with SoundScan?
If you did not purchase your bar code from us, you can register your bar code directly through Nielsen SoundScan at: titlereg.soundscan.com/soundscantitlereg. Once a title is submitted to SoundScan, it can take up to 10-15 business days for it to be entered into their system. Once entered, the title has the ability to be tracked by SoundScan.
