1st – Naim amps are NOT bright – its the speakers that are bright. 2nd – Naim amps & CDP’s are – if anything – rolled off at HF more than many other makers. This typically starts around 20kHz & is a 2 or 3dB down a 50kHz. Naim power amps are all 18kOhms which would give a wider & flatter response.

Can a Naim NAIT drive SBL’s?
A Naim Nait will drive SBL’s, but is far from ideal. A minimum for them would be a pre/power (other than the Supernait), comprising of at least a NAP180, although you could squeeze a NAP140 at a push. The Credo’s are a little more forgiving, and will happily match up with their basic pre/powers without any problems.
Is the Naim SUPERNAIT a good amplifier?
The Supernait produces an informative and enjoyable sound regardless. The previous generation of Supernait wasn’t broken and so Naim hasn’t fixed it. But, in adding a good quality MM phono stage and tweaking the power amplifier section, it has made a great amplifier even better.
How do the Roksan Credo amps compare to the NAIT amps?
The Credo’s are a little more forgiving, and will happily match up with their basic pre/powers without any problems. How different will either of these Roksan amps sound compared to a Nait amp? …it’s a hard call buying gear you can’t listen to first huh!!
