Synopsis

A film director, Sebastian, arrives in Cochabamba to make a movie about the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the west Indies and on the enslavement of the Natives. He wants that the film shows the fate of indigenous peoples and the role played by their defenders Antonio de Montesinos and Bartolomé de Las Casas. His producer Costa has chosen Bolivia for reasons of cost.

The director chooses from among its extras Daniel in the role of Hatuey, chief of the Tainos. Daniel is also one of the leaders of the movement against the increase in the price of water. In fact, an american multinational, Bechtel, has won the market of the distribution of water. It closes well and requires people to pay $ 450 per year, then they don’t get paid that two dollars per day.

The scenes of the film in a rehearsal or filming are interspersed with scenes of demonstrations in Cochabamba, introducing a parallel between the exploitation past and present inhabitants of South America.
