How do you use vexilar Deptherm?
General Application – Attach the Deptherm to line and let sink to bottom or any intermediate depth. Hold there for 30 seconds and return to surface. Read depth on the calibrated side at the top of the water column and temperature off the temperature plate. Invert instruments; press valve to release water.

By simply placing the Vexilar Ice-Ducer (transducer) on top of smooth ice, you can view what is happening as if you had the transducer directly in the water. Dont worry about ruining the transducer. Shooting through the ice will not damage the transducer so go ahead and try it a few times.

Does FishHawk really work?
FishHawk works like a charm! This little unit does exactly as advertised. I used to work for the water quality board and did lake surveys, so was looking for an inexpensive way to get a temperature profile to help with fishing. This does the trick. One thing to be wary of–the instructions say not to let it get below freezing.
Is the TD worth it for beginners?
