For this first edition, the festival is given for vocation to promote the diversity of european cinema and to discover the many talents our continent.
Located in the heart of the Alps, in one of the most beautiful ski areas in the world, the festival is open to all, film lovers, mountain lovers, film professionals or the simply curious ; the opportunity to spend a week except !
Take advantage of the first snow, sessions of cinema throughout the day in the presence of the filmmakers and actors in a festive atmosphere with unforgettable evenings, entertainment, concerts and DJS… !
On the code side, the tone is in the discovery and diversity. 50 feature-length films from European countries will be screened in the 6 rooms of the station :
5 great european films for the first
10 films in the official Competition for the title of the Arrow of Crystal
10 european films awarded in their home countries in Panorama
12 Hungarian films in the framework of the Focus Countries 2009 dedicated to Hungary, guest of honor of the first edition, represented by Istvan Szabo
8 films, ” classics “, intended for the young public
A total of about 120 sessions and more than 10,000 spectators expected.
The Festival of European Cinema of the Arches is also a great appointment not to be missed. More than 500 guests from the world of cinema (directors, film crews, european film schools, producers, distributors…) will be gathered around many professional meetings intended to identify new projects, promote the circulation and dissemination of european cinema.
More than 70 journalists from all over Europe are also expected to relay the event and make known the diversity of the european cinema of today and tomorrow.
