Be kind Rewind is without a doubt a nostalgic film made for a generation of movie-goers (or not) who have experienced the golden age of video-clubs, that of the discovery of nuggets of film at the turn of a radius not necessarily very well-informed, stuck between series Z improbable. Because if we wait (and there is) a sense of humor some of the part of the duo Jack Black / Mos Def, this is the scent of plastic and magnetic tape worn down to the cord which is better after viewing.

In addition to its message advocating the human and the hand-made and the good laugh that can be obtained from the actors when they “re-make”, literally, a certain amount of cult movies with an energy and fun that is palpable, one is surprised to find that this film takes us back to our own memories of amateur cinema. The actors we each serve their register with talent : be it in the area of clowning and of the éxagération like Jack Black or the nostalgia with a Danny Glover particularly credible in the old landholder of the video club more attached to his films on VHS as its balance sheet.

Without a doubt, that the generations have known that the DVD sold out or download (legal or not, this is not the intention) will not understand fully this movie, but sometimes it is necessary that there is good to be approaching the age of an old c***.

The film itself is growing, qualitatively speaking. I must confess to have found the first third of Be kind Rewind a bit long. However, despite the side a little outdated, as desired by the subject, the realization of Michel Gondry (The Green Hornet recently) is not lazy : this is in the various “re-creations” of film, or even in the final projection, one perceives the eye of a lover of the cinema knowing the fundamentals of each of these genres and scenes cults of the films concerned.

Of course, Be kind Rewind is no movie, but the set of his about generous and touching, as well as his humor (not ubiquitous to much) make a movie, if not worship, at least as memorable as the films and the era that it tends to immortalize on his film. Without a doubt, that the generations have known that the DVD sold out or download (legal or not, this is not the intention) will not understand fully this movie, but sometimes it is necessary that there is good to be approaching the age of an old c***.
