[critique] Very Bad Trip 2

Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug offer a trip to exotic Thailand to the wedding Stu. After the unforgettable evening of the burial, of her life of a boy in Las Vegas, Stu does not want to leave anything to chance and opted for a brunch lighter, without risk, before the ceremony. But things don’t always go as planned. What happened in Las Vegas is imaginable in Las Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok beyond imagination…

The first Very Bad Trip had created the surprise at its output : this comedy trash unexpectedly and had managed to give a bit of freshness in this world of the comedy reasonably watered down in recent times or stupidly fat and heavy but without any real soul. And of course its success would necessarily generate a more… expected at the turn !

The main characters and most secondary are there, the springs of comedy, are the same, the scenario is hardly innovative… in Short, originality is to be sought in another room of the cinema. But after this (sad ?) observation made and if it was a customer of the humor of the first, we are in for our money : we can laugh peacefully and strongly of the misadventures of this band of buddies in the ride.

Because if the frame is similar, one is glad to find colourful characters and always barred such as those interpreted by Zach Galifianakis and Ken Jeong, and enjoy gags that raise the bar in the trash even higher ! Visually, the film is at once aesthetic with a visit in Bangkok enjoyable but also a bit messy because of a realization a little more nervous than the first, but in my opinion less controlled (or adapted ?).

In fact, if Very Bad Trip 2 seems to be slightly lower than its predecessor, it is that it suffers from the comparison permanent that can be done if one has seen this one. Moreover, as such, it is a comedy trash of very good quality that can satisfy the most for little to have a sense of humor broad enough, often placed below the waistband and on which it exaggerates a lot. Yes, it is always humor that I’m talking about : the tone is given.
