Here’s the first trailer for District 9…
District 9 is directed by Neill Blomkamp, 29 years old, that knows nor Eve nor Adam. Apart from that this young director who, apart from the first film, was for a time tempted the adaptation of the video game Halo, abandoned for lack of financial worries. It has also provided some visual effects for series such as Stargate SG-1, First Wave or Smalville.
Why are we speaking of Cloverfield ? Because the scenario makes us think of this film : The survival of extraterrestrials become refugees in South Africa. If one adds to this that the cast is totally unknown to : William Allen Young, Robert Hobbs, Sharlto Copley, Jason Cope, Kenneth Nkosi.
The film was produced by Peter Jackson himself and his box of production, Wingnut Films. The film will be released on our screens on August 14, 2009. In the meantime we present to you a first poster and a first trailer of the film. You decide !
