Annecy Italian Cinema held its first edition in 1983 and, since the event each year presents the best of film production to contemporary Italian.
For the 28th edition of this event has become the unmissable rendez-vous of the lovers of Italian cinema, various sections are provided.
A selection of the works of the year, including a dozen feature films – first or second film – in competition and as many of the documentaries presented in the context of a specific competition. Will also be offered films, portraits of filmmakers and actors.
A selection of films of the director receiving the award Sergio Leone for his work as a whole.
A selection in tribute to the region of Piedmont and its capital Turin (in partnership with the Film Commission Piedmont).
A retrospective dedicated to the filmmaker Giuliano Montaldo (Sacco And Venzetti, Eyeglasses, and Gold, The Shortcut, etc.).
A tribute to Gabriele Ferzetti with the presentation of a selection of his films, signed Mario Soldati, Michelangelo Antonioni, Florestano Vancini, Elio Petri, Antonio Pietrangeli, Sergio Leone… The protagonist of L’avventura will hold a masterclass on the craft of the actor, presented by Goffredo Fofi and Fabio Ferzetti.
Pre-screenings of Italian films acquired by distributors in French and film “events” on the occasion of the evenings, including opening on Wednesday 29 September and of the proclamation of the prize list on Saturday October 2, 2010.
Meetings with the directors, writer and actors present at Annecy.
But also, the debates around the films of the competitions, the symposium on the role of the regions in co-productions, exhibitions of photographs.
